Book 2 of the Billionaire Boys Club series
Hunter Buchanan was a member of the Billionaire’s secret club along with five other of his college friends. He had been badly scarred sometime earlier in life and was a secretive hidden man. He had seen Gretchen Petty in New York City and had thought of a way to get to know more about her. She was the sister to Logan’s PA, Ashley Petty. So he gained a little bit of information from Ashley then he set about to get her closer to him.
Hunter was obviously hurt for most of his life and he was hesitant to make actual contact with Gretchen. He never expected to have feelings for her or to actually have a relationship with her. He only wanted to get to know her and hopefully make a friend. He needed a friend.
I loved everything about Hunter. He was so insecure and he wanted so much to be loved. He lacked trust. He was so afraid of the disgust he always saw in people’s faces. I wanted Hunter to have happiness and love. He was so innocent in so many ways. Hunter worked off his stress with his roses. He had such sweet ways.
Gretchen was a funny ghost writer that wrote books that she absolutely hated. She lived from paycheck to paycheck and even worked under the counter at the local coffee shop to make ends meet. When an opportunity to make a huge amount of money while writing a book based on notes that had been found in the Buchanan Mansion. She couldn’t resist this chance to write something beside astronaut fiction.
When she first meets Hunter, he was not expecting her outside his shower, while he was naked. She noticed everything about him including his facial scars. It was hilarious when she tried to apologize. Greatest awkward conversation I have ever read.
While she lived in his house she was funny and happy and devilish. She really made me laugh. Could she make Hunter laugh? She wanted to so badly. She wanted to give so much to him, everything he had missed out on.
This book filled my heart with utter love. It was a beautiful read that made me stay with the book when I should be sleeping. I just could not walk away from Hunter and Gretchen. It is a book that I would invite everyone to read. It is just that good.
