My Abigail: A Psychological Thriller by David Duane Kummer
My Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
My Review:
First of all let me start by saying, Wow, what a concept and what a tale. The story was interesting, sure it could have been longer, I wouldn’t have minded that at all. The characters were creepy, that’s for sure. The intrigue and mystery were certainly abundant. I really enjoyed this book. I just wished for more depth in the characters, more meat on their bones. After reading it, I gave a quick look over at Amazon to see about this author and his other works, and then I saw that this is a writer that is still in high school. A young high school student. Not a senior, but really young. I immediately forgave the lack of fleshing out that had flummoxed me. What a gifted young man he is and what a wonderful future he is going to have. His story was engaging, confusing and very intense.
I liked the pace of the story, it kept me engaged and wondering what the heck was going to happen next. I would love to see more in-depth work from this author. If he had fleshed this out more, it would have been a solid five.
David Duane Kummer is a name you need to watch for in the book world. After I posted my first review on Goodreads I stayed on his page and watched an interview with him and I was just amazed at his humor and his ability to answer questions that might have made me stammer to answer. I am happy to say I read his work when he was just starting. If he stays focused on producing quality stories like this one, he really will be a force to be reckoned with later. Imagine how good he will be when he has learned all the grammar and editing rules.
Thanks so much for this review 🙂 I will keep all your tips in mind as I write!
