The Book Blurb:
When fifteen-year-old Ben Williams moves with his family to a sprawling East Coast estate, he quickly finds himself torn between fulfilling his destiny; preventing the discovery of the existence of magical creatures by man, and love. Creole, a young faerie with serious anger issues, fights tooth and nail to deny her own heart. When the two teenagers meet, along with a cast of goblins, dwarves, orcs, centaurs, satyrs, fawns, and a troll, nothing in the two worlds will ever be the same again.
This is one fantastical book that not only has a compelling and lovely storyline, there are the most amazing drawings included so that your imagination has a companion when envisioning the scenes from the book. I enjoyed the humor that kept cropping up, it kept the story fresh and interesting. There are so many mystical creatures in this book, it is a delightfully told story.
Cree and Ben are such a pleasure to read about as they set upon a journey neither of them can be sure of the outcome.
Cree is hilarious to me, she is so snippy and negative. However, with Ben’s personality, it evens it out. There is a sweet story building between them and it was lovely to read. I loved the different creatures in the story. They all had a special place and made you want to learn more about them.
Ben and Cree are surrounded by hints of dangers and yet they travel on. It is really well told and such an enjoyable read. I can recommend this to anyone that loves fantasy, or if you are like me and like to stick a toe in every once in a while to see if the water is fine. In this book the water is perfection. Best part, is there is a future book in the works.
