Book 2 of the Jamie Quinn mystery series by Barbara Venkataraman was just as enjoyable as the first. I was glad that I had both books available in the set and actually, I still have one more to go. In book 1 we got to meet the family court lawyer that found herself attempting to solve a murder of the music teacher. The student being charged was her cousin. She met up with Duke the Private eye and a series is born.
Once again I Get to see insomniac Jamie take on a case and have it begin to go south. When Becca hires Jamie Quinn to represent her in the divorce from her husband and also retain the children. Jamie realizes this case might be as cut and dried as she believed.
A murder of a recently threatened soon to be ex-husband occurs, Jamie steps in to clear her client.
The side story of Jamie dealing with her mother’s recent death and a parental mystery from the last book, there is a lot happening in a relatively small book.
With a new character or two cropping up, suddenly the chemistry begins to increase.
Barbara Venkataraman writes with such a fun style I just really enjoy Jamie Quinn. I have to say there were such nice special moments. Another fun mystery. I am posting this review during Mystery Thriller Week. The annual event to celebrate mystery and thriller authors, bloggers, and fans.
