My Review:

First of all, let’s address the author’s name, yes, he is THAT David Byrne. If anyone should know music and I mean all about music, it would be the head of the Talking Heads, David Byrne.

There is a lot of information about musical roots and how musicians worked to perfect their sound according to what worked best with their style. I was fascinated by the facts about the designs of opera houses, concert halls, and clubs.

There are some entertaining tidbits in this book which covers not only the history but the decisions on Byrne’s bands, music, and even clothing choices. It was really fun to see the outfits and read why they chose black and white stripes, or white suits, or a hat. From the front of this orange book cover to the very last page it was an enjoyable read. I was provided this paperback copy by Blogging for Books in exchange for an honest review.

There was a sensational bonus of a massive amount of personal and informational pictures. Pictures, flyers, clips from videos and all other memorabilia. I had no idea that the bad was so obsessed with Brazil and it was fascinating to read how they went against instruction and guidance and did their own thing. All in all, I enjoyed this book.
