Recap for the Month of July

Upon awaking this morning, a bit surprised at how fast July had gone, and how much I  got accomplished.  Deciding to  participate in Camp NanoWriMo, I made a quick goal list. I love Camp Nano more every time I participate. It spurs me into action and allows me to challenge myself.
Decided on some simple projects for the month of July , rewrite and edit The Path of the Child, begin The Path to the Past and hopefully tweak The Shepherds of Donaldson Park.  Hoping that  I could dredge up 50,000 words in 30 days. Happily able to surpass my goal, and  validating on the 22nd.

For my efforts, I received a groovy certificate and this new badge of honor. ~~> CNW_Winner_200

Don’t y’all just love it when a plan comes together?

This is a graph of July’s writing, editing, and rewriting. The grand total for the month ~~>  89,029.

Can anyone else tell when the hyperactivity and hyper focus kicked in?  Looking at this, it would be even more colorful and funky, if it were able to account for all the deleted words and the revision of the revision. But let’s not count every step. 🙂

Speaking of counting every step, have you ever had an efficiency expert come to the workplace in order to document negative patterns and teach the employees  to be more efficient? Back in 1985,  the bank had just such an expert come into the office and she literally counted our steps from the vault to the copy machine. That might have been thirty years ago, but I believe she taught me a love of graphs and charts.  That was even before Excel made it so attractive and color coded.

July total

The number of book reviews completed ~~> 25. Looking back, it seems as if  the majority of the books read last month earned a high rating. Even reading my first horror and finding it not as scary as I feared. When in the zone writing, I failed to read on a daily basis. Nevertheless, now that there will be fewer irons in the fire, it will get back to normal.

Except, there is  this little deadline staring me in the face concerning Friday, August 5, 2016. This is not the time to lose the hyper focus.

Let me know how your July fared! I am curious. Have fun in August, I know I will, I already have my itinerary and production plan  and  written down  for the month. That’s a completely different chart.midis_crazy1

A-Z PE Challenge Day 20 (T)

This challenge is to post a different blog daily starting with a letter a day from A to Z.

Today we are celebrating the timeless letter T!

The Blog dejour is:

This is a fun blog to visit because Choppy is an active, fashionista that happens to  be a dog.  There is something very fun about dogs wearing clothes, sunglasses and random accessories. Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of the travel blog and Choppy have traveled through 43 of the 50 states, plus numerous trips into Canada. So Travels with Choppy is the perfect title for their blog.

On occasion Schooner ( the newest member of the family that happens to be  a pretty little cat) allows himself to join in the dressing up and photo opportunities.  Most of the pictures are of our girl Choppy though. There is one especially enjoyable regular post which asks us to find choppy in the photo. Choppy suure can hide herself well.  I have yet to locate her in one.

Choppy and Sarah have their own Facebook pages and invite you to join them on there. I hope you will hop over and meet Sarah and the family.  They are fun to follow.

Hidden inside this blog are jewels about Choppy and family. In fact Choppy isn’t her given name.  Sarah explains in her post that:

“Choppy is not her full name. Her full name is Tchoupitoulas, after the street in New Orleans. My sister and I have been going to Mardi Gras for years, and I got Choppy just a few days after returning from a Mardi Gras trip that happened to coincide with my 30th birthday. Naming her after a street in New Orleans seemed like a good idea, and Tchoupitoulas Street has been the site of numerous amusing stories during those New Orleans trips. And thus, Choppy got her name.”

I do hope you enjoy your special day Choppy, Sarah and Schooner. Today is all about you guys!

Here is a Quote from his blog explaining his motivation for this fun challenge.

” This is the people edition! So on the first day you find someone who’s screen name starts with A and you check out their blog. The idea is that you read through some of their posts, introduce yourself and give them some feedback. Then, write your post of the day and publish it, describing who the person is and your experience finding and interacting with them, what you thought of their posts. What you came away with. I think it could be fun:)”

A-Z PE Challenge Day 3 (C)

This challenge is to post a different blog daily starting with the letter  A  all the way to  Z.

Today we are celebrating the curvy letter C!

This means we take a trip to the great state of Ohio.ohiostateoldredbrick

Ohio is where we will meet and get to know more about Amanda. The first thing to know is that Amanda has a really wonderful blog called:

Cover2CoverMom

Her blog’s motto is “Escaping the grind of everyday life, one book at a time.

Amanda is a 29 year old who is married to her high school sweetheart and is the mother of two. She stays at home with her children and she stays really busy with sports, fitness, teaching her children, cooking, and chauffeur.
She lists even more jobs in her about me section.

Amanda says:

“To her, books are a way to escape the grind of day to day life.  She loves to get swept away in a book that transports her to another time and place.  Amanda’s reading comfort zones are historical fiction and contemporary fiction, however she is actively trying to branch out and expand her literary horizons”

Amanda also does a variety of book reviews. She writes her reviews in many different genre. When I go to her blog I am always impressed with her viewpoint and her lay out. She makes her reviews look so nice and professional. Her reviews always include the synopsis as well as her own thoughts on the book. She also does ARC reviews.

Amanda is happy to share her weekly wrap up and hauls with her followers. The entire blog is interesting and easy to navigate. She also is willing to do Book Tags and has won several awards for her blog. It is just a creative place to visit.

This would be the perfect time to hop over and meet her. She is quick to respond to comments and to visit my page when I post something new.

Amanda @ Cover2CoverMom this is all about you. Enjoy your special letter day!

A-Z PE Challenge Day 2 (B)

This challenge is to post a different blog daily starting with the letter  A  all the way to  Z.

Today we are celebrating the lovely letter B!

We are going to travel halfway around the globe to the wonderful country of Belgium.

The Blog dejour is:

THE BELGIAN REVIEWER

Now the Belgian Reviewer is actually named Inge. She lives near Brussels in Belgium.  Inge is an avid reader and she loves to review the books that she reads.  She is always a enjoyable reviewer because she tells her feelings about books.  She makes you understand the reason behind her rating.

I am including just a small blurb from her review to show what I mean.

“Review

If you’re looking for your next cosy mystery to read, you don’t have to look any further and you seriously might want to give this one a go. I don’t have much experience in this genre but I quite enjoyed this light read. This novel made a nice mixture of whodunit with a touch of romance.”

Inge loves Colleen Hoover for YA and Romance books. She also loves to read Chris Carter. Looking at the books on the posts, you can see that she likes many different types of books.  I like that about her.

She is always kind in comments and she is quick to respond to your comments on her blog.  Her outgoing personality comes through while visiting her blog.

Inge loves her cat and enjoys a good snuggle along with coffee and belgian chocolate.

I also know that Inge loves to be involved with Challenges, tagging and awards.  She deserves all the nominations that she get. Her blog is flawless! When she does the Blog Book Tours she makes it fun, interesting and complete with links and reviews.

The followers of her blog are quick to nominate her for awards. She has won the Real Neat Blogger Award and The Liebster Award. As I said she likes tags and makes them fun. She participated in the Who I am tag,and I found out that she is a Virgo and and her name is a good name that is natural, classic, informal, as well as nerdy. Love that!

Enjoy your special Letter day Inge
