Maybe Not (Maybe, #1.5)

Overall *****

Maybe Not by Colleen Hoover, is another delightful story told from a male point of view. I enjoy that POV more than I expected to. I found it refreshing getting into a guys head with the whole romance, love thing.
Warren and two Brothers that were all roommates get an unexpected new room mate. The new room mate is not only a woman, but she is Bridgette Cox,and Warren finds her cold and mean. She has a secret that one of the roommate brothers know and has offered her a place to stay while figuring out all the details of the secret. Every time they speak it was with bitterness and anger.

Warren tried to break Bridgette in with his usual pranks that seems to backfire on him when she doesn’t react. He is intrigued. He finds himself fighting with her and then fantasizing about her at night. He learns this secret about her by overhearing a phone call and it drives him crazy. So he sets about to uncover more about that secret. His preoccupation about discovering her secret makes everyone in the house curious about his new obsession. He is not discreet with his new obsession.

Finally Warren and Bridgette find a way to interact with each other. It is hot and steamy and unexpected. The hard part is that they have to try to find a way to live in the same apartment together during the day too.

The pace is fast and the dialog is fun and explosive.

There are several twists and turns to the story that keep it fresh and interesting. When another female roommate comes into the apartment it causes a lot of annoyance, but one of the funniest pranks ever.

When we meet some of Warren’s family, I laughed the entire time. I especially liked the four year old. He was great.

Colleen Hoover has a way with a story making it exciting and real. This book is my second and it is another great read by her. Each book I read by her, makes me want more.

I actually listened to this on Audible with the terrific narration by Jason Carpenter. This was the same narrator for Finding Cinderella and I loved his voice in both books. He brings humor to the story with the perfect amount of inflection and sarcasm when called for. His voice brought the story blazingly to life.

I am giving this book a 5 star on all fronts. The narration, the story and everything in general was to me worth a full 5 stars.

The book is available in Paperback, in Kindle Edition, and on Audible at Amazon

AudioBook Review: Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover

Finding Cinderella (Hopeless, #2.5)Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finding Cinderella is one of the best books I have ever read. The story is so unusual and so beautiful. This is a novella from the Hopeless series, but it can certainly be read as a stand alone book. I have not read the other books in the series and I followed along just fine.

At the first of the book you meet two people that do not know one another in a dark closet. They first meet when Daniel slips into the maintenance closet to hide during fifth period and he stumbles over a crying girl. After an hour of talking they meet again a week later. That is when they share a sweet tender hour making love in that closet. One time only after pretending that they are in love. The girl has never had anyone make love to her, the boys from school have only had sex with her. It is so sweetly and so beautifully written.

The words took my breath away. His words to her were so touching. Her words to him were equally as emotional. They seem to know exactly what they could love about one another.

They do not know one another, did not see the other, and have no contact after that one hour in the closet.

A year later a new girl comes into Sky’s life and when Daniel meets her he finds himself drawn to her in an inexplicable way. Since his friend, Sky’s brother, has told him he couldn’t’ hit on Six they decide to pretend to hate each other. That provides some really adorable conversations.

I just loved the words that were in this book. The emotion was so electrifying. I was almost in tears in several places in this book.It touched my heart so.

I would highly recommend this book. It is a beautiful romance. There was humor when you least expected it and it was just wonderfully written. I can’t say that enough it seems.

I listened to it on Audiobooks through Audible and the narration by Jason Carpenter is divine. His voice is age appropriate and his inflection brings these beautiful words to life. The entire package was worth about 10 stars. Unfortunately I can only give 5 stars.

The book is told from the male perspective and having Jason reading was perfection.

The book Finding Cinderella is available in Paperback, on Kindle and in Audiobook at Amazon

Today we are celebrating the lovely letter B!

We are going to travel halfway around the globe to the wonderful country of Belgium.

The Blog dejour is:

THE BELGIAN REVIEWER

Now the Belgian Reviewer is actually named Inge. She lives near Brussels in Belgium.  Inge is an avid reader and she loves to review the books that she reads.  She is always a enjoyable reviewer because she tells her feelings about books.  She makes you understand the reason behind her rating.

I am including just a small blurb from her review to show what I mean.

“Review

If you’re looking for your next cosy mystery to read, you don’t have to look any further and you seriously might want to give this one a go. I don’t have much experience in this genre but I quite enjoyed this light read. This novel made a nice mixture of whodunit with a touch of romance.”

Inge loves Colleen Hoover for YA and Romance books. She also loves to read Chris Carter. Looking at the books on the posts, you can see that she likes many different types of books.  I like that about her.

She is always kind in comments and she is quick to respond to your comments on her blog.  Her outgoing personality comes through while visiting her blog.

Inge loves her cat and enjoys a good snuggle along with coffee and belgian chocolate.

I also know that Inge loves to be involved with Challenges, tagging and awards.  She deserves all the nominations that she get. Her blog is flawless! When she does the Blog Book Tours she makes it fun, interesting and complete with links and reviews.

The followers of her blog are quick to nominate her for awards. She has won the Real Neat Blogger Award and The Liebster Award. As I said she likes tags and makes them fun. She participated in the Who I am tag,and I found out that she is a Virgo and and her name is a good name that is natural, classic, informal, as well as nerdy. Love that!

Enjoy your special Letter day Inge

Here is a Quote from his blog explaining his motivation for this fun challenge.

” This is the people edition!  So on the first day you find someone who’s screen name starts with A and you check out their blog.  The idea is that you read through some of their posts, introduce yourself and give them some feedback.  Then, write your post of the day and publish it, describing who the person is and your experience finding and interacting with them, what you thought of their posts.  What you came away with.  I think it could be fun:)”
