The Entertainer Blogger Award

I was notified by Trina at itsgoodtobecrazysometimes that she had nominated me for the Entertainer Blogger Award. I really was happy and a bit shocked  (happy shocked) to see this notification.  I of course  hope that my blog is somewhat entertaining.  I say silly things and some serious things and then there is that little habit of mine about writing book reviews and short stories. So that she thought of me enough to nominate me really made me feel good.  You need to check out her blog while you are looking around the blogosphere. She has such great posts on there. Trina links to other blogs giving us a chance to see what all is out there.  I love clicking through her links so much. She also posts uplifting, humorous and sweet posts. Check her out, I know you will enjoy her blog.

There are rules to this award, they are as follows:

The Rules:

  • Write a post with the award picture.

  • Nominate 12 other bloggers who are funny, inspiring, and, most important of all, ENTERTAINING!

  • Thank the person who nominated you and leave a link to their blog!

  • Also, answer the 5 questions.

When I think about entertainment, it encompasses a range of implications…

…. Did I laugh?

…. Did I cry?

…. Did I learn?

The following people have made me do one of those three things. I’m sure they’d do the same for you as well.

So I nominate these 12 bloggers:

The Four eyed Poet@

The Photographer@

The Hook@

The Librarian@

Here are the 5 questions and my best attempt to answer them.

Why did you start the blog in the first place?

A few years ago, I became ill. When that illness hit, it took away all the joy and concentration needed to read.  I started reading a book on a flight home after visiting  my sister.  She had given me a set of readers and they allowed me to see the letters again. I had aged in the last 4 years and couldn’t read the print any more.  Suddenly, I was reading and really enjoying it. So I started writing reviews on Goodreads. Then I decided to try my hand at more in depth posts on this blog. And here I am , trying to stay focused and healthy, writing and reading.

What is your favorite book?

I can read Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux over and over again. I believe I have read it five time now.  I can also read The Secret Garden non stop. I am on about my tenth reading of that classic.  So I will put them as a tie.

What do you dislike the most?

Dishonesty, plain and simple.  Be honest with me.  I can take it.

What is your favorite food item from the mall?

Panda Express Orange Chicken

What is your favorite past time activity?

Organizing things, like my blogs book review index pages, my Goodreads shelves, my bookcases in my room.  Organizing relaxes me!  You should seriously take a look at my shelves on Goodreads.  They are organized to the hilt.

I hope you enjoy doing this Entertainer Blogger Award. You all deserve it!  You have made my blogosphere a better place! If you are not interested in doing it, I will not be upset. Just know you were nominated because you entertain  me so well.

The Respect Award!

What did I find when I first came onto my blog this morning?  A notification that the sweet and sunshiny Brooke over at the I was so touched that she would nominate me for such a really amazing award. If you have not been to her blog, then you are missing out. She sends out the most wonderful sunrises that make my day so happy once I see them.  She also shares amazing quotes and sayings that lift my spirits. Brooke is a life coach and a psychologist and I feel better just having known her.

The Rules:-

Place the award on your blog

Thank the person who nominated you

Answer the three questions

Nominate three blogger

What does respect mean to you ?

Respect means that you have presented yourself in a manner that leads others to trust you and appreciate your position on this planet.  To respect someone means that they have value and they are known to be a good person that will not intentionally hurt anyone.  I respect people that I know are not mean spirited and have only good intentions.

Who do you respect the most?

I respect the leaders of the Nation, the community, the teachers and academics. I also respect pastors of all faiths and worshippers of all faiths. I respect the people that go to war to protect the rights and freedoms and safety of others. I respect people that have knowledge on subjects that I do not know about.  I respect intelligent, thoughtful, hardworking, and kind people.

What do I respect the most about myself ?

I suppose I respect the fact that I raised three very kind, considerate, law abiding children that have grown to be loving parents through my example.  I respect myself for being a good example of a loving, kind, and intelligent woman.

My three nominees are:

You do not have to accept this award of course, but it would be so great if you did. Then you can pass along respect to our fellow bloggers. I am sure you can share this with three other bloggers that you believe deserve respect.  I hope that they will take great pleasure in receiving and passing it on.

Thank you.

A-Z PE Challenge Day 9 (I)

This challenge is to post a different blog daily starting with the letter from A to Z.

Today we are celebrating the irresistible letter I!

The Blog dejour is:

This interesting and lively  blog is written by Trina. Her writing serves so many purposes. She writes and provides links to other blogs. In categories so that people can find a list of new blogs to follow.

Trina also is open about her mental illness and is actively making the fact that having a diagnosis is as nonthreatening as possible.  It is refreshing to be able to read about other people with a diagnosis. It is important for people to learn the truth about these mental conditions. Many people are not quite as willing to be open and frank about their own diagnosis.

Trina also has been nominated for many different blogger awards by other bloggers. She has received The Versatile Blogger Award,  Spirit Animal Award, Leibster Award, and A Lovely Blog Award.

Funny posts are also one of the things I enjoy on this blog. Here is an example:

So today I started with getting on with my goals, I went through my spare room and cleaned it up, although being honest, its not used for much so I dusted. Then I started in my son’s room *big sigh*

Emptied out his toy chest, took out the toys I thought he was too old for and the toys that were broken. Put some on some free sites, some in the loft cause you know,it might happen.

Sorted out all his clothes, he needs to stop growing so 2 black bags for the loft, black bag full of rubbish later and I have finished.

This would of probably taken maximum of an hour but my son was “helping”

Enjoy your special letter day today. Trina .  Today is all about you!

About the A-Z PE challenge.

This is a fun way to showcase blogs that you like and people that you want to know better. Come join us on the 26 day challenge!

This challenge was created by gapawa.

He came up with the A-Z People Edition challenge and it is an awesome idea. If you want to join in the fun, then just join in.There is no set date or month. Just 26 days of your choosing. Here is the link to the instructional blog you can visit

Here is a Quote from his blog explaining his motivation for this fun challenge.

” This is the people edition! So on the first day you find someone who’s screen name starts with A and you check out their blog. The idea is that you read through some of their posts, introduce yourself and give them some feedback. Then, write your post of the day and publish it, describing who the person is and your experience finding and interacting with them, what you thought of their posts. What you came away with. I think it could be fun:)”
